Pick Your Own at High Altitude Rhubarb
Our primary method of sale is via pick-your-own at the farm itself. The harvest normally begins the end of May or early June and lasts one to two months. See the beginning of the home page for details of the next harvest, when they are available. Please left-click here to request email notification of this year's harvest dates, prices and details. We won't send spam, just important updates about the harvest as Mother Nature reveals and sometimes forces changes to our plans.
Picking your own rhubarb offers a fun and convenient way to keep your grocery bill lower while adding high quality food to your pantry. Picking your own rhubarb is a win/win for us all. We make a little more money over pure wholesale because we're saved the effort of picking, packaging and delivering and you get to buy very high quality, fresh product for about half the price of less fresh products in reputable grocery stores. Plus we all get to enjoy the outdoor atmosphere of fresh air, beautiful scenery and good company.
We're open for picking-your-own during our scheduled weekend harvest days or by appointment. Please contact us for an appontment or for notification of the harvest weekends. Our harvest normally begins in late May and ends in July/August, hail permitting. Again, please see the home page for more details.
The rhubarb fields are park-like during the growing season. They offer a welcome relief from the heat and hubbub of the city. A few added bonuses are possible as well, though they cannot be promised. For example, thousands of ladybugs have been known to emerge from our fields during the growing season. Such a sighting is rare and thrilling. Deer, fox and birds of prey are also common visitors.
We have lots of quality rhubarb for your enjoyment but, alas, no facilities for long visits. (no public restroom or wash facilities) Also, we are not able to accept credit cards...only cash or check.
